In order to encourage backyard composting by Lawrence residents*, compost bins are now available for purchase through the Waste Reduction and Recycling Division.

Not a "master" composter? No problem- every purchase comes with a free book on backyard composting to help get you started!

The bin currently offered is The Earth Machine (retail value: $80). It consists of two plastic rings that snap together, plus a locking lid to form a large dome. This bin is very durable, and has a door near the bottom for easy access to finished compost. We are offering The Earth Machine at the low price of $30. Click here for photo and details.
